-- Home About Contact OneBeacon’s Farmington Office Supports Our Troops Courtney Kaner 02.20.2020 Recently, OneBeacon’s Farmington Office held a care package drive in support of our military troops. The office worked with the local organization Hero Boxes , which sends care packages to troops overseas, to collect requested items. The Farmington office collected food items, such as beef jerky, hard candy, peanuts and microwave popcorn, as well as toiletries and other products. In addition to the care packages, a number of team members wrote letters to our troops, sending them best wishes and thanking them for their service. Canton Hosts SOUPer Bowl Food Drive Courtney Kaner 02.19.2020 In honor of the recent Super Bowl 54, our Canton, MA office held a SOUPer Bowl food drive. The office put out two collection boxes, one with a Chiefs logo and the other with a 49ers logo. Everyone was invited to bring in canned/nonperishable food items and place them in the box of the team they thought would win the Super Bowl. Even though the 49ers lost the big game, everyone was a winner in Canton. The office collected more than 300 food items, which were donated to the Canton Food Pantry . In celebration of the game and as a thank you for everyone’s hard work and contributions, the office served a few sweet treats. Great work Canton! The 2019 Community Giving Totals Are In! Courtney Kaner 01.24.2020 2019 was another great year for the OneBeacon Charitable Trust! In total, the Trust donated to 107 nonprofits in support of our employees and producer partners. We also sponsored the University of St. Thomas insurance education program twice, matched 15 gifts made by our employees to schools and donated $50,000 to nonprofits important to our employees during the holiday season. As a part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the OneBeacon office sold dress down/pink days for their colleagues to purchase. The OBGR team raised a total of $475, but with the support of the OneBeacon Charitable Trust, was able to donate $1,975 to the cause. Great work OBGR San Antonio! Canton Hosts Annual Holiday Bowling Event Courtney Kaner 12.19.2019 Recently, the OneBeacon Canton, MA office hosted their annual holiday bowling event fundraiser. The much anticipated event brings together the Canton operations team and their business and IT counterparts to compete in a round of bowling and raise money in support of the winning lane’s charity of choice. This year’s winning OneBeacon team, which included Mike Shortell, Maira Kaja, Ghassan Kiami, Keith Champagne, Lynn O’Leary, Sree Veettil, Zach Sullivan and Alex Volf, achieved the highest score of the day! Their team chose to donate the day’s proceeds to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital. Congratulations to the winning team and great work Canton on another successful bowling event! OneBeacon Donates to Toys for Tots Courtney Kaner 12.17.2019 With the holidays around the corner, our Canton, MA and Plymouth, MN offices are giving back to children in need through toy drives on behalf of Toys for Tots. The Canton office, which celebrated 10 years of supporting the organization, opened up the drive to their office neighbors this year and collected 400 toys. The Plymouth office also had a very successful drive, collecting 101 toys over the course of only four days. Great work Plymouth and Canton!
